TAKT Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 August 2026
TAKT is a lean manufacturing simulation app published by BICIT SA (“BICIT,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what information TAKT collects, why, and how it’s handled.
If you have questions about this policy, contact us at bicitsa@gmail.com.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you create a facilitator account, we collect your name, email address, and password. Your password is handled by our authentication provider (Supabase) and is never stored by us in plain text.
Company and billing information
If you set up TAKT for your organisation, we collect company name, contact name, contact email, contact phone number, estimated number of users, facilitation preference, and use case details you provide during onboarding. This is used to generate your quote and provision your account.
We do not collect or store your card details. Payment is processed by PayFast, a third-party payment gateway. TAKT receives only a payment status and a billing reference token from PayFast — never your card number or banking details.
Diagnostic and lead information
If you use TAKT’s diagnostic tool before signing up, we collect the details you enter (floor type, team size, current programme, timeline, contact name, email, phone) so we can follow up about your enquiry.
Simulation and usage data
We collect gameplay and session data — such as KPI results, run history, and facilitator activity within a session — to power the in-app dashboards and reports your team sees.
Information sent to Google’s Gemini API
Certain admin-facing features (for example, generating industry-specific vocabulary or KPI templates) send descriptive input — such as an industry name or category — to Google’s Gemini API to generate that content. This is used for content generation only; we do not use it to build a profile of you, and it does not include your account password or payment details.
2. How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- Create and manage facilitator and company accounts
- Run and score simulation sessions
- Generate quotes and process billing
- Respond to enquiries submitted through the diagnostic tool
- Generate industry-specific content within the app (via the Gemini API)
- Maintain the security and reliability of the service
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. Who we share information with
We share information only where necessary to run TAKT:
| Third party | What they receive | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Account details, company/session data | Authentication, database hosting, realtime sync |
| PayFast | Billing contact details, payment status | Payment processing |
| Google (Gemini API) | Descriptive text input for content generation (e.g. industry name) | Generating vocabulary/KPI templates for admin features |
Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy and security terms. We do not share your information with anyone else, except where required by law.
4. Data retention
We retain account and session data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution needs. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 6).
5. Security
We rely on Supabase’s infrastructure for authentication and data storage, which includes encryption in transit. Access to administrative systems is restricted to authorised BICIT personnel.
No system is completely secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to TAKT.
6. Your rights
If you are located in South Africa, you have rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), including the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Object to certain processing
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at bicitsa@gmail.com. If you are located outside South Africa, you may have similar rights under your local data protection law; we’ll honour reasonable requests regardless of location.
7. Children's privacy
TAKT is a business tool intended for workplace training and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as TAKT evolves. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify facilitators in-app.
